Our Story

Perera Crowther was founded by Sam Perera and Josh Crowther in 2005, before gradually diverging into separate financial advice and lending businesses.

Under the leadership of Sam Perera, Perera Crowther Financial Services has evolved into a multi-disciplinary financial advice company encompassing superannuation planning, risk advice and financial planning for corporations and individuals.

We are proud to play a leadership role in the community and the financial advice industry. As highly active members of the Association of Financial Advisors, we advocate for consumer protection and a healthy and fair relationship between the finance/insurance commmunity and our clients.

Our Key Team

Sam Perera

Managing Director

Sam is a founder and Managing Director of Perera Crowther Financial Services. He is responsible for formulating the strategic advice for clients, and has advised clients from a range of backgrounds, including leaders in politics, academia and the medical and legal fraternity.

Sam is currently completing a Masters in Financial Planning, and holds a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning and an Advanced Diploma of Accounting. He also is a founder and Director of Econ Insurance Services, which focuses on corporate insurance.

Sam enjoys serving the Financial Services industry through his work on regulatory reform. He has authored papers and been heavily involved in lobbying efforts on Future of Financial Advice reforms and most recently the Life Insurance Framework. Sam has presented as an expert witness to several parliamentary committees including, most recently, the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services.

Sam is a father of four, and heavily involved in the local community, through school, church, local business and volunteer activities.

Kristen Agius

Financial Adviser

Kristen joined Perera Crowther Financial Services in 2016 whilst completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Wollongong, and soon became a key part of the team assisting with client strategies, research and reporting.

Currently Kristen oversees client reviews and service delivery for our corporate clients. She is also renowned for her technical abilities and clear thinking when formulating and delivering advice.

Janelle Chuter

Client Services Manager

A key contributor to the success of our strong client relationships, Janelle has over 20 years experience in financial services and supports Sam in implementing the financial plans and strategies for clients.

Prior to joining the financial services industry, Janelle worked within the judiciary in operations. She uses this knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of Perera Crowther, enabling Sam to focus on clients and the strategic direction of the business.

Margie Janouschek

Administration Manager

Margie focuses on ensuring the process we follow in providing advice is of the highest standard, meets regulatory requirements and exceeds our best practice benchmarks.

Having worked in the banking industry for over 25 years, Margie uses her wealth of experience to oversee our ongoing review program to help ensure that our clients are attuned to the portfolios we manage on their behalf.

Danny Lodewyke

Financial Planning Assistant

Danny joined Perera Crowther Financial Services as an intern in 2019 and has continued working with us whilst completing his Bachelor of Business degree at UTS.

Danny assists with administration duties, research and reporting to support our team and help improve workflow efficiencies. A valuable addition to our team, Danny continues to build his skill set and implement his financially focused business studies with a keen attitude.

Sam is pro-active in managing the insurance design of our superannuation plan, and instrumental in the addition of Income Protection to the benefit design to ensure that our full-time employees are protected
